  • Development of cellular therapies using adult Stem Cells and induced Pluripotent Stem cells

  • Characterisation of haematopoietic stem cells


Cancer

  • Studying models of liver, bile duct, and pancreatic cancer to investigate tumour biology and potential therapies
  • Genetic mutations in normal tissue and its impact on oncogenesis

 

Transplantation 

  • Investigation of organ quality and suitability for transplanation
  • Studying mechanisms of ischaemia-reperfusion injury and its therapeutic amelioration
  • Investigation of the role of the immune system in transplant rejection


Developmental Biology

  • Cellular lineage analysis to study embryonic development of human organs

 

Physiology

  • Physiology of appetite and hormones in the digestive system
  • Localisation and function of tissue resident immune cells and their role in disease

 

Pathogenesis of Disease

  • Pathogensis of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D)
